This is not the usual watch with an audible alarm, it vibrates at the desired set time. Inspired by tabletop alarm clocks, the wristwatch alarm is set by pressing the alarm button and moving the watch hands to the desired time and then releasing the button. Designed by Industrial Facility, this is part of the show at the New Simplicity Exhibition featuring current examples of simple design.

Berlin DMY International Design Festival 2010. June 9 – 13, 2010. Tempelhof, Berlin.
The central exhibition reveals pioneering products and experimental prototypes by more than 400 international designers. The exhibition features new product launches by professional designers, studios and firms (Allstars area) as well as processual and experimental works by young and upcoming designers (Youngsters area).
I will be attending the Symposium as well. The theme for this year is “Are designers geeks?”
Some people adapt themselves to the world, while others adapt the world to themselves. The world goes round because of the latter group.A collaboration between Thailand Creative & Design Center and the Victoria & Albert Museum, the “Vivienne Westwood” exhibition reflects the evolution of her designs—from the outrageous punk rock style of the 70s, to the “neo-romantic” designs inspired by classical costumes during the 80s, and then the one-of-a-kind elegant style since the 90s to the present day, which has earned her world acclaim.

I checked out the ICFF 2006 today. Lots of interesting furniture and furnishing designs, really a great source of inspiration. Also discovered some new materials for my projects. Going back tomorrow to continue my tour of duty.
